What are Radicals?

ree

Japanese radicals, known as bushu (部首) in Japanese, are the fundamental building blocks of kanji. Think of them as the equivalent of letters in the alphabet, but for the complex world of kanji characters. Every single kanji is composed of at least one radical, and many are made up of two or more.

Below you will find the list of all the radicals used in Japanese.
